About Mother Tree Olive Grove

Rooted in Oregon. Crafted by Hand. Inspired by a Mother Tree.

Tucked just outside of Salem, Oregon, Mother Tree Olive Grove stands as one of the early pioneers of Oregon’s growing olive oil industry. What began as a modest experiment has evolved into a thriving, mature grove, and a true labor of love for owner and grower, Marni Redding.

From Cherry Orchard to Olive Grove

Before olives ever touched this soil, the land was a cherry farm. When Marni took it over, she carried a vision, one that many believed wouldn’t be possible in Oregon’s cool climate.

In 2008, she planted her first 100 olive trees. Almost all of them died.

Instead of giving up, she ventured off to California.

There, she purchased established trees, sought mentorship from experienced growers, and immersed herself in training on planting, soil management, and the art of cultivating olives with intention.

Armed with new knowledge and a pickup of mature but thriving trees, she tried again.

Resilience Grows Here

Oregon has its challenges. A tough winter arrived and wiped out trees once more. But with each setback, Marni replanted, tended, and protected the grove. She learned the rhythm of the seasons. She nurtured trees long enough to reach true maturity; nothing here is younger than five years old.

Today, Mother Tree Olive Grove stands among Oregon’s most resilient, fully estate-grown olive farms.

Hand-Picked. Pure. And Truly Oregon.

Every olive harvested here is handpicked, sorted with care, and sent directly to the Durant Olive Mill—an Oregon partner and pioneer in its own right.

Unlike many producers, Mother Tree’s olives come 100% from the property. No outside fruit. No blended harvests. No shortcuts.

The grove uses no chemicals on the land, ever.

There are no known pests, no sprays, no synthetic treatments; just healthy, mature trees nurtured naturally in Oregon soil.

Every batch of oil is tested for polyphenols, ensuring high quality, flavor integrity, and wellness benefits in every bottle.

Why Mother Tree Olive Grove Tastes Different

Many olive oils in the region use California fruit.

Mother Tree doesn’t.

Everything here, from seedling to harvest, is Oregon-grown, Oregon-crafted, and Oregon-made. The flavor is shaped by the soil, the rain, the cool mornings, and the long summer daylight. It’s a taste you can’t import.

Recognized for Its Beauty and Spirit

The grove has caught the attention of visitors, photographers, and even OPB (Oregon Public Broadcasting), who described it as beautiful, romantic, and uniquely Oregon.
